Simulated results are not real results

Paper trades assume fills at recorded prices. Real markets have slippage, partial fills, liquidity gaps and outages that simulation cannot fully capture. Backtests are built with hindsight: a strategy tuned on the past can fail in the future. Charges shown are estimates based on standard rates and can differ from your broker’s actual bill.

Markets carry real risk

Equity and derivatives trading can produce losses larger than the amount you plan for, and derivatives can lose money faster than equities. If you choose to act in real markets on ideas you explored here, that decision and its results are entirely yours. Consider consulting a SEBI-registered investment adviser before investing real money.

Data

Historical daily candles are closes from publicly available sources, which can contain errors or gaps and are delayed, never a live tick. Where a stock has had a split or bonus, prices are adjusted for it, but an adjustment can be missing or dated wrongly, and other corporate actions such as demergers are not adjusted. Intraday bars, where shown, come from a free delayed source. SmartPaperDesk does not connect to your broker. If you connect your own market-data subscription from an approved data vendor, live prices for your account come from that vendor under your own agreement with them, and any vendor charges are separate. Scans, backtests, charts and paper marks state whether the data is live or delayed and the as-of date they were computed from, so you always know what you are looking at.
